Knowledge, Attitude and Practice Towards CoVid-19 Among Residents of Brgy. Lamion, Bongao, Tawi-Tawi

            The ultimate aim of this study was to explore the knowledge, attitude and practice towards CoVid-19 among residents of Brgy. Lamion, Bongao, Tawi-Tawi. Specifically, it sought to answer the following questions:  What is the profile of the respondents in terms of gender, age, educational attainment, occupation and family monthly income? To what extent are the knowledge, attitude and practice of the residents of Brgy. Lamion, Bongao, Tawi-Tawi towards CoVid-19? Is there a significant difference on the knowledge, attitude and practice of the residents of Brgy. Lamion, Bongao, Tawi-Tawi towards CoVid-19 between genders? Is there a significant difference on the knowledge, attitude and practice of the residents of Brgy. Lamion, Bongao, Tawi-Tawi towards CoVid-19 in terms of family monthly income? Lastly, is there a significant difference on the overall results of knowledge, attitude and practice of the residents of Brgy. Lamion, Bongao, Tawi-Tawi towards CoVid-19?

            Further, the researchers hypothesized that there is no significant difference on the knowledge, attitude and practice of the residents of Brgy. Lamion, Bongao, Tawi-Tawi towards CoVid-19 between genders, there is no significant difference on the knowledge, attitude and practice of the residents of Brgy. Lamion, Bongao, Tawi-Tawi towards CoVid-19 in terms of family monthly income, and there is no significant difference on the overall results of knowledge, attitude and practice of the residents of Brgy. Lamion, Bongao, Tawi-Tawi towards CoVid-19.

            Moreover, this study utilized the descriptive-quantitative research design in which survey method was used to gather data on the knowledge, attitude and practice towards CoVid-19 among residents of Brgy. Lamion, Bongao, Tawi-Tawi.

            Majority of the respondents are Tausug, adhering to Islamic faith, have a monthly family income of below 5,000 and reached elementary level of education. The findings revealed that female residents have more knowledge, positive attitude and practice on CoVid-19 than male residents at Brgy. Lamin, Bongao, Tawi-Tawi.  

                The respondents obtained a mean of 3.93 (agree) on the variable Knowledge 19, 3.87 (agree)  on Attitude and 4.00 (agree)  on Practice . Overall, the respondents agreed on the statements listed on variables knowledge, attitude and practice towards CoVid-19 with an overall mean of 3.93.

            The hypotheses tested on gender and monthly family income were rejected as confirmed by the ANOVA (Analysis of Variance). While, the hypothesis tested on the overall results was accepted.  

            To conclude, the findings suggest that general the residents of Barangay Lamion in Bongao, Tawi-Tawi demonstrated good knowledge, positive attitudes, and reasonable practice regarding COVID-19 during the outbreak.
