PowerPoint is a
popular presentation software and acts as a powerful mode of communication for
presentation of though using the numerous special effect options and
techniques. Hence, this study tried to determine the level of competency of the
senior high school students in MS PowerPoint Application of the Tawi-Tawi School of Arts and Trades,
Bongao, Tawi-Tawi.
More specifically, it sought answer the
following questions: What is the profile of the respondents in terms of gender
and strand? What is the level of competency of the senior high school students
in MS PowerPoint Application of the Tawi-Tawi School of Arts and Trades? And is
there a significant on the level of competency in Microsoft PowerPoint among
the senior high school students in MS PowerPoint Application of the Tawi-Tawi
School of Arts and Trades when grouped according to gender and strand?
Further, the researchers hypothesized that
there is no significant on the level of competency in Microsoft PowerPoint
among the senior high school students in MS PowerPoint Application of the
Tawi-Tawi School of Arts and Trades when grouped according to strand and grade
level.
The study revealed that the level of competency in MS PowerPoint
Application among TTSAT-SHS students in terms of track/strand, the TVL students
obtained the highest weighted mean of 27.95, which can be interpreted as
“average”. Followed by the STEM students which obtained a weighted mean of
27.65, means “average”. While, the GAS students obtained the least weighted
mean of 26.70, also means “average”.
In terms of gender, the female
students obtained the highest weighted mean of 28.33, which can be interpreted
as “average”. While, the male students obtained the least weighted mean of
26.53, also means “average”.
Overall, the TTSAT senior high school students obtained the overall
mean of 27.43 which implies that their competency in MS PowerPoint Application
is on the “average” level.
The Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) confirmed that there is no
significant difference on the level of competency in MS PowerPoint Application among
TTSAT-SHS students in terms of track/strand and gender. Therefore, the
hypothesis tested on track/strand and gender was accepted.
